The Nonlinear Dynamic Network members of Hebron district met on September 16, 2011 at the Hebron Hotel. Different participants from the first, second and the third leadership programs attended the meeting. Participants shared their longing to meet each other and connect again with each other, as they feel that they have a common language between each other where they can share and express their feelings. The participants shared how much they have been affected by the program and that it took them to a different level of thinking and helped them to achieve their personal commitments.
The conversation moved into a new initiative in the dynamic network that is to bring one million visitors to Hebron’s Old City to the Ibrahim Mosque starting in the Western calendar year 2013 or 2014. The aim is to reach a seemingly impossible number to bolster Hebron’s global presence in the world, unify the Palestinian people with a national campaign, and to stimulate the Hebron economy. Also to put pressure on the Israeli, PA, and international governments to end the H-1/H-2 system of Hebron, return the Old City and the Ibrahim Mosque to the ownership of the Palestinian people, and allow for Muslim pilgrimage to the Holy Land. As well as, this will strengthen awareness of Palestinian heritage and culture throughout Palestine of the importance of Hebron to all regional and religious communities Nevertheless, this will Show the possibility of developing religious and cultural tourism in Hebron as a sustainable economic force in the southern West Bank.
The initiative was supported fully by the network and the participants where they explored different possibilities and suggestions. They also offered their help and support for the possibility by their initial contacts with the Hebronites organizations and coalitions that would facilitate and support such initiative.
The meeting was wrapped up with full commitment to the project and with full energy to conduct structural meetings in the coming days.
